Welcome to This Week’s Brackets Extension Updates, Issue 14/51.

Added or updated @Brackets extensions in the week from 12/08/2014 to 12/15/2014.

This week there were 4 new Extensions and 16 updates. This includes themes and other extensions.

What’s going on

We are close to the end of 2014. Only 2 weeks left and it was an exciting year. Brackets gained a lot of traction and sparked interest in a lot of directions. Brackets grew a lot in the past 12 months. We have a big community behind brackets, a lot of active contributor and people like you, who contribute to Brackets with a bug report, a theme or with a great extension that fills a gap. Thank you!. Brackets is successful, because of your continued contributions and support. Let’s keep this going in 2015.

The Brackets team is finalising the 1.1 Release. It will be available mid of this week. So keep an eye on your update notification icon.
This will be the last release for 2014. The team will take a break from an event packed year. Some of us might be available during the christmas break, but expect lower traffic on commits and less reviewed pull request until next year.

Let’s keep our fingers crossed and wait for the 1.1 release of Brackets this week. If you can’t wait until then, you can still download the latest Brackets release and let us know what you think.

This week there were 2 new Extensions and 11 updates. This includes themes and other extensions.

What’s going on

The Brackets team is still eagerly working on the 1.1 Release. We have fixed most of the CEF issues. There is still some love for the Linux version required. It seems that we are not releasing the Linux version with the new CEF version. This is unfortunate, but you will get all the other bugfixes and improvements, except the new brackets shell. We continue to work on resolving all the outstanding issues with CEF and Linux, and hope to release it with 1.3 beginning of next year.

So, we will have some exciting times ahead. Only a handful of days before we call out the new release. In the meantime, pleae stay tuned and get the latest Brackets build and let us know what you think.

Welcome to This Week’s Brackets Extension Updates, Issue 14/49.

This week there were 6 new Extensions and 18 updates. This includes themes and other extensions.

What’s going on

The Brackets team is eagerly working on the 1.1 Release. We are currently reviewing a lot of open pull requests to get as many into the new release as possible. We are also working on getting CEF version 2171 integrated into Brackets. This is a huge step forward for Brackets. The current CEF version uses Chrome 29, whereas the new CEF version will give us Chrome 39! This means bugfixes, a lot of improvements and especially new DevTools.

So, we will have some exciting times ahead of us before we call out the new release. In the meantime, pleae stay tuned and get the latest Brackets build and let us know what you think.

What’s going on?

As I mentioned last week, there is something wrong with the download data for Brackets File Tree! It looks like there is some spamming going on. Now I need to take a look at the log files on the server. Perhaps I can get an idea where this huge number is coming from.

I’m not quite done yet with the changes to the tweet bot. It’s work in progress and I hope to get it finished by the end of this week.

This week there were 8 new Extensions and 26 updates. This includes themes and other extensions.

What’s going on?

To be honest: I’m sceptical about the download numbers for Brackets File Tree! I don’t know why they have been so high. All the other numbers are in, what I consider a normal range, but Brackets File Tree is somehow way too high.
So, I’m carefully watching the download data for this extension, to figure out if there is any spamming or spoofing going on.

During the next week I’m going to deploy a change to the tweet bot. The change will add a link to a screenshot for a theme (if there is a picture reference in package.json). Let’s see how this works out.
Another change will be a new section with the 11 most downloaded Extension of all time.
